The '''Franpipe''' is a {{convert|840|km}} long natural gas pipeline from the [Draupner E riser](/source/Draupner_platform) in the [North Sea](/source/North_Sea) to the receiving terminal at Port Ouest in [Dunkirk](/source/Dunkirk), [France](/source/France).  The gas transported to France originates mainly from [Sleipner East](/source/Sleipner_gas_field) and [Troll Vest](/source/Troll_gas_field) gas fields.  The pipeline was officially inaugurated on 9 October 1998.

The diameter of pipeline is {{convert|42|in}} and the capacity is 19.6&nbsp;billion cubic meters of natural gas per year.  It cost 10.6&nbsp;billion NOK.<ref name=facts2009>{{cite book

The Dunkirk receiving terminal is owned by the Gassled partners (65%) and [GDF Suez](/source/GDF_Suez) (35%).<ref name=facts2009/>  The [Dunkirk](/source/Dunkirk) terminal is operated by Gassco from Gassco's [Zeebrugge](/source/Zeebrugge) control center.<ref name=scandoil121203>
