# Frank Allack

**Frank Albert Allack** (25 September 1888[1] – 1967) was an English [footballer](/source/Association_football) who played as a [forward](/source/Forward_(association_football)) for Spanish clubs [RCD Espanyol](/source/RCD_Espanyol) and [FC Barcelona](/source/FC_Barcelona).[2] The highlight of his career was winning the treble with Barcelona in the 1912–13 season ([Catalan championship](/source/Catalan_football_championship), [Copa del Rey](/source/Copa_del_Rey) and [Pyrenees Cup](/source/Pyrenees_Cup)), netting a goal in the [final](/source/1913_Pyrenees_Cup#Final) of the [1913 Pyrenees Cup](/source/1913_Pyrenees_Cup).[3]

## Biography

Born in [Woolwich](/source/Woolwich), he began to play football in England for Plumstead FC and then [Catford Southend](/source/Catford_Southend_F.C.). Allack toured [Catalonia](/source/Catalonia) with the former, and in a match against [RCD Espanyol](/source/RCD_Espanyol) on 18 May 1911, he put up a great performance which impressed the Catalan club enough for them to sign him, along with [William Hodge](/source/William_Hodge_(footballer)) and [Raine Gibson](/source/Victor_Gibson).[4][5] He had an immediate impact in Espanyol, quickly becoming one of the club's most important players and playing a pivotal role in helping his side win the 1911–12 [Catalan championship](/source/Catalan_football_championship), thus interrupting a three-year dominace of [FC Barcelona](/source/FC_Barcelona).

His great season at Espanyol earned him a move to FC Barcelona in 1912, where he played for two seasons.[6] He again had a great first impact on the team, helping Barça win all the titles at stake in his first season with them (1912–13): The Catalan championship, [Copa del Rey](/source/Copa_del_Rey) and [Pyrenees Cup](/source/Pyrenees_Cup), and he was one of the most outstanding players in the latter [tournament](/source/1913_Pyrenees_Cup), being its shared [top scorer](/source/1913_Pyrenees_Cup#Top_Scorers) (alongside [Alexander Steel](/source/Alexander_Steel)) with 3 goals, two in a 7–0 win over [Casual SC](/source/Casual_SC) in the quarter-finals and one in the [final](/source/1913_Pyrenees_Cup#Final) to help his side to a 7–2 win over [Cométe et Simot](/source/La_Com%C3%A8te_et_Simiot_Bordeaux).[3] He later played for [Català SC](/source/Catal%C3%A0_SC) before retiring in 1914.

His brother, Henry Thomas Allack, was also a footballer and played in Catalonia for Olot Deportiu, Sporting Club Olotí, CE Manresa and [Terrassa FC](/source/Terrassa_FC).[6][7]
