# Franck Signorino

**Franck Eddy Signorino** (born 19 September 1981) is a French former professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who played as a [left-back](/source/Left-back).

## Career

Born in [Nogent-sur-Marne](/source/Nogent-sur-Marne), [Val-de-Marne](/source/Val-de-Marne), Signorino made his professional debut with [FC Metz](/source/FC_Metz), helping it return to [Ligue 1](/source/Ligue_1) in [his second year](/source/2002%E2%80%9303_Ligue_2). After a final season where he paired up with [Franck Ribéry](/source/Franck_Rib%C3%A9ry), he signed for [FC Nantes](/source/FC_Nantes).

In 2007, following Nantes' [relegation from the first division](/source/2006%E2%80%9307_Ligue_1), a host of clubs, including [Deportivo de La Coruña](/source/Deportivo_de_La_Coru%C3%B1a), [Getafe CF](/source/Getafe_CF), [UD Almería](/source/UD_Almer%C3%ADa), [Birmingham City](/source/Birmingham_City_F.C.), and [Newcastle United](/source/Newcastle_United_F.C.) expressed an interest in the player. Eventually, Signorino moved to Getafe on 30 July 2007,[1] making his competitive debut against [Tottenham Hotspur](/source/Tottenham_Hotspur_F.C.) in the [group stage](/source/2007%E2%80%9308_UEFA_Cup) of the [UEFA Cup](/source/UEFA_Europa_League) following a period of injury (2–1 away win, 90 minutes played).[2] His [La Liga](/source/La_Liga) debut came on 16 December, featuring 67 minutes as a [substitute](/source/Substitute_(association_football)) in a 3–1 home defeat to [Villarreal CF](/source/Villarreal_CF).[3]

Signorino spent the entire [2008–09 campaign](/source/2008%E2%80%9309_La_Liga) in the sidelines, nursing a serious [tibia](/source/Tibia) injury.[4][5][6] In January 2010, after being demoted to third-string left-back, he signed with [second division](/source/Segunda_Divisi%C3%B3n) side [FC Cartagena](/source/FC_Cartagena) on loan; in the last minutes of the following summer [transfer window](/source/Transfer_window) he was cut by Getafe[7] and, subsequently, joined [S. du Pays de Charleroi](/source/S._du_Pays_de_Charleroi) on a one-year contract, appearing regularly for the Belgian team but [suffering relegation](/source/2010%E2%80%9311_Belgian_Pro_League) from the [Pro League](/source/Belgian_Pro_League).

On 5 September 2011, Signorino agreed to a one-year deal with [Stade Lavallois](/source/Stade_Lavallois), returning to his country after four years.[8] He continued to compete in his country's top division in the following years, with [Stade de Reims](/source/Stade_de_Reims) and Metz.[9]
