**Foster** is an [unincorporated community](/source/Unincorporated_area) partly within the city of [Sweet Home](/source/Sweet_Home,_Oregon) in [Linn County](/source/Linn_County,_Oregon), [Oregon](/source/Oregon). It is located on the western end of the [Foster Reservoir](/source/Foster_Reservoir).[1] A post office named Foster serves [ZIP code](/source/ZIP_code) 97345, which serves areas beyond the Sweet Home city limits on both the north and south sides of Foster Lake: on the north side, the area extends along the [Middle Santiam River](/source/Middle_Santiam_River) to the west end of Green Peter Lake; on the south, the area extends for several miles along the [South Santiam River](/source/South_Santiam_River) and [U.S. Route 20](/source/U.S._Route_20_in_Oregon).[2]
