# Forvisirvat

**Forvisirvat** (INN, USAN; developmental code name **SP-624**) is a [sirtuin-6](/source/Sirtuin_6) (SIRT6) activator which is under development for the treatment of [major depressive disorder](/source/Major_depressive_disorder) and [schizophrenia](/source/Schizophrenia).[1][2][3][4][5] It is taken [by mouth](/source/Oral_administration).[1] As of January 2025, forvisirvat is in [phase 2](/source/Phases_of_clinical_research#Phase_II)/[3](/source/Phases_of_clinical_research#Phase_III) [clinical trials](/source/Clinical_trial) for major depressive disorder and is in [phase 1](/source/Phases_of_clinical_research#Phase_I)/2 clinical trials for schizophrenia.[1][2][4] It is under development by Sirtsei Pharmaceuticals and Arrivo BioVentures.[1][2][5]
