# Foraker, Indiana

**Foraker** is an [unincorporated community](/source/Unincorporated_area) in [Union Township](/source/Union_Township,_Elkhart_County,_Indiana), [Elkhart County](/source/Elkhart_County,_Indiana), [Indiana](/source/Indiana).

## History

Foraker was founded in 1892 when the Wabash Railroad was extended to that point.[3] It was named for [Joseph B. Foraker](/source/Joseph_B._Foraker), the 37th Governor of Ohio.[4]

The Foraker post office was discontinued in 1966.[5]
