**Floyd Anthony Streete** (born 5 May 1959) is an English former professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who played as a [central defender](/source/Defender_(association_football)).

## Career

Streete played in [the Football League](/source/The_Football_League) for [Cambridge United](/source/Cambridge_United_F.C.), [Derby County](/source/Derby_County_F.C.), [Wolverhampton Wanderers](/source/Wolverhampton_Wanderers_F.C.) and [Reading](/source/Reading_F.C.), making a total of 357 appearances for all four clubs.[3] Streete also played in the Netherlands for [Utrecht](/source/FC_Utrecht) and [Cambuur](/source/SC_Cambuur),[4] before finishing his career in non-league football for [Leighton Town](/source/Leighton_Town_F.C.).

He is perhaps best remembered for his career at Wolves, joining the [Black Country](/source/Black_Country) club from [Derby County](/source/Derby_County_F.C.) in October 1985 for £5,000. Derby would win promotion from the [Third Division](/source/Football_League_Third_Division) that [season](/source/1985-86_in_English_football) while Wolves suffered relegation, but he played a key role in their turnaround in fortunes which followed over the next few years. He helped them win successive promotions as [Fourth Division](/source/Football_League_Fourth_Division) champions in 1988 and Third Division champions a year later, also winning the [Football League Trophy](/source/Football_League_Trophy) in the first promotion season. He helped Wolves achieve a top half finish in the Second Division for the [1989–90 season](/source/1989%E2%80%9390_in_English_football) before dropping down a division and signing for [Reading](/source/Reading_F.C.) in July 1990.[5]

## After football

After retiring as a player Streete worked as a PE teacher,[4] before moving to the Cayman Islands to open a gymnasium and teach football.[6]

## Personal life

His son [Remie Streete](/source/Remie_Streete) was also a professional footballer who played for [Port Vale](/source/Port_Vale_F.C.).[7] Another son Cameron played for Swedish club [Djurgården](/source/Djurg%C3%A5rdens_IF_Fotboll) and now plays for [Landskrona](/source/Landskrona_BoIS).[8]
