# Flostrand

**Flostrand**[1] is a village in [Rana Municipality](/source/Rana_Municipality) in [Nordland](/source/Nordland) county, [Norway](/source/Norway). It is located along [Norwegian County Road 17](/source/Norwegian_County_Road_17) on the northern bank of the [Sjona](/source/Sjona) [fjord](/source/Fjord).

The district surrounding the inner part of the Sjona fjord originally belonged to [Nesna Municipality](/source/Nesna_Municipality). On 1 January 1964 this district (population: 543) was merged with the town of [Mo i Rana](/source/Mo_i_Rana), [Nord-Rana Municipality](/source/Nord-Rana_Municipality), and the northern part of [Sør-Rana Municipality](/source/S%C3%B8r-Rana_Municipality) to create the new [Rana Municipality](/source/Rana_Municipality).[2]
