## Career

Ajayi started her career in the [Nigerian Championship](/source/Nigerian_Women's_Championship) for teams including [Kakanfo Babes, Abeokuta](/source/Kakanfo_Babes,_Abeokuta), [Rivers Angels](/source/Rivers_Angels), [Jagede Babes](/source/Jagede_Babes) and the [Pelican Stars](/source/Pelican_Stars). Following her participation in the [1999 World Cup](/source/1999_FIFA_Women's_World_Cup) she signed for [1. FFC 08 Niederkirchen](/source/1._FFC_08_Niederkirchen) in the German [Bundesliga](/source/Bundesliga_(women)), where she spent two full seasons. She later returned to Nigeria, playing for the [Police Machine](/source/Police_FC_of_Lagos) and the [Bayelsa](/source/Bayelsa_State) Queen. She continued playing there until 2008, when she relocated to the [Tianjin Teda](/source/Tianjin_Teda_(women)) within the [Chinese](/source/China) [Super League](/source/Chinese_Women's_Super_League). In 2010, she returned to the [European leagues](/source/European_Leagues), playing for Slovenia's [Krka Novo Mesto](/source/ZNK_Krka), Poland's [Pogoń Szczecin](/source/Pogo%C5%84_Szczecin_(women)), and Spain's [Dínamo Guadalajara](/source/D%C3%ADnamo_Guadalajara).[3][4][5]

## International

As a member of the [Nigerian national team](/source/Nigeria_women's_national_football_team), Ajayi won a total of five consecutive [African Championships](/source/African_Women's_Championship) between 1998 and 2006. She also competed in the [1999](/source/1999_FIFA_Women's_World_Cup) and [2003](/source/2003_FIFA_Women's_World_Cup) [World Cups](/source/FIFA_Women's_World_Cup) and in the [2000](/source/Football_at_the_2000_Summer_Olympics#Women) and [2008](/source/Football_at_the_2008_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Women's_tournament) [Summer Olympics](/source/Summer_Olympics).[6][7][8] During the events, she served as the [Nigerian](/source/Nigerian) women's team captain.[9]
