(September 2020) **Fisheye** is a [revision-control](/source/Revision_control) browser[1] and search engine owned by [Atlassian](/source/Atlassian), Inc. Although Fisheye is a commercial product, it is freely available to [open source](/source/Open-source_software) projects and [non-profit](/source/Non-profit) institutions.[2] In addition to the advanced search[3] and [diff](/source/Diff) capabilities,[4] it provides: - the notion of changelog and changesets[5] - even if the underlying version control system (such as [CVS](/source/Concurrent_Versions_System)) does not support this - direct, resource-based URLs down to line-number level[6] - monitoring and user-level notifications via [e-mail](/source/E-Mail) or [RSS](/source/RSS)[7] ## Use in open-source projects Atlassian approves free licenses for community and open-source installations[2] under certain conditions. It also provides a [REST](/source/REST) and [XML-RPC](/source/XML-RPC) [API](/source/API).
