# Fireproof Recording

**Fireproof Recording** is a recording studio, which became an important part of the [indie music](/source/Indie_music) scene in [New York City](/source/New_York_City). In 1997, [Adam Lasus](/source/Adam_Lasus) moved to Brooklyn, New York and started the company.

Fireproof clients include indie artists [Clap Your Hands Say Yeah](/source/Clap_Your_Hands_Say_Yeah), [PJ Harvey](/source/PJ_Harvey), [Clem Snide](/source/Clem_Snide), [Daniel Johnston](/source/Daniel_Johnston), [Mark Mulcahy](/source/Mark_Mulcahy), [Amy Ray](/source/Amy_Ray) and many others.

Fireproof is an [analog](/source/Analog_recording) and [digital](/source/Digital_data) [recording studio](/source/Recording_studio) relying on vintage 24 track 2 inch multitrack tape machines and 1/2 inch mixdown decks.

Fireproof has a vast collection of vintage guitars, amps and outboard audio compressors.
