## Production

In November 2024, an adaptation of *Fing* by [David Walliams](/source/David_Walliams) was in development, produced by King Bert Productions and Story Bridge Films, with [Jeffrey Walker](/source/Jeffrey_Walker_(director)) and written by Walliams and [Kevin Cecil](/source/Kevin_Cecil) and [Taika Waititi](/source/Taika_Waititi) in talks to star.[3] In March 2025, [Taika Waititi](/source/Taika_Waititi), Walliams, newcomer Iona Bell, [Mia Wasikowska](/source/Mia_Wasikowska), [Penelope Wilton](/source/Penelope_Wilton), [Richard Roxburgh](/source/Richard_Roxburgh), [Blake Harrison](/source/Blake_Harrison), and [Robyn Nevin](/source/Robyn_Nevin) joined the cast,[4] as [principal photography](/source/Principal_photography) began at [Screen Queensland Studios](/source/Screen_Queensland_Studios) in [Brisbane](/source/Brisbane).[1]

## Release

*Fing!* premiered in the Family Matinee section of the [2026 Sundance Film Festival](/source/2026_Sundance_Film_Festival) on January 24, 2026.[5] In May 2026, [Angel Studios](/source/Angel_Studios) acquired the rights for distribution in the United States, setting it for release in 2027.[6]
