# Fiction Weekly

***Fiction Weekly*** was an American [literary magazine](/source/Literary_magazine) based in [Lake Charles, Louisiana](/source/Lake_Charles,_Louisiana). *Fiction Weekly* was conceived in the summer of 2008 by members of the [McNeese State University](/source/McNeese_State_University) [MFA Program](/source/Master_of_Fine_Arts) in [creative writing](/source/Creative_writing). As its name suggests, *Fiction Weekly* publishes on a weekly basis; it is published exclusively on the internet and features one previously unpublished piece of [fiction](/source/Fiction) on its front page each week.

Authors published in *Fiction Weekly* have appeared in [anthologies](/source/Anthologies) such as [New Stories From the South](/source/New_Stories_From_the_South), have been nominated for the [Pushcart Prize](/source/Pushcart_Prize), and have been published in many other well reputed literary magazines including, [Glimmer Train](/source/Glimmer_Train), [The Pinch](/source/The_Pinch), and [Harpur Palate](/source/Harpur_Palate).[1][2]

However, as of May 2010, the website had not been updated for six months. It was stated that the magazine ceased publication.[3]
