***Feylinia*** is a [genus](/source/Genus) of [skinks](/source/Skink) ([family](/source/Family_(taxonomy)) Scincidae). It is usually placed in the [monotypic](/source/Monotypic)[1] [subfamily](/source/Subfamily) **Feylininae**.

However, it appears to be not as distinct as formerly presumed, but rather somewhat closer to such [genera](/source/Genus) as *[Chalcides](/source/Chalcides)* and *[Sepsina](/source/Sepsina)*. These are usually placed in the subfamily [Scincinae](/source/Scincinae), which seems to be [paraphyletic](/source/Paraphyletic) however.

*Feylinia* belongs to a major [clade](/source/Clade) which does not seem to include the Scincinae [type](/source/Type_(biology)) genus *[Scincus](/source/Scincus)*. Thus, it will probably be eventually assigned to a new, yet-to-be-named subfamily. (Austin & Arnold 2006)
