**Ferrargunj** is one of five local administrative divisions of the [Indian district](/source/Districts_of_India) of [South Andaman](/source/South_Andaman_district), part of the [Indian](/source/India) [union territory](/source/Union_territory) of [Andaman and Nicobar Islands](/source/Andaman_and_Nicobar_Islands).[1] The name is after [Michael Lloyd Ferrar](/source/Michael_Lloyd_Ferrar), a commissioner and butterfly collector.

It is a division known locally as a *[tehsil](/source/Tehsil)*, roughly equivalent to a [county](/source/County) in its range of administrative powers. It is located in the [Andaman Islands](/source/Andaman_Islands).

Ferrargunj's population according to 2011 [Census of India](/source/Census_of_India) figures was 53,565.[2]
