**Fern Deacon** is an English actress. She is known for her roles as [Chloe Voyle](/source/List_of_Ackley_Bridge_characters#Chloe_Voyle) on the [Channel 4](/source/Channel_4) drama *[Ackley Bridge](/source/Ackley_Bridge)* and Agnes Duffett on the [CBBC](/source/CBBC) series *[Hetty Feather](/source/Hetty_Feather_(TV_series))*.

## Early life

When Fern Deacon was five, her parents enrolled her in acting classes, and at the age of 11, she was accepted into [Sylvia Young Theatre School](/source/Sylvia_Young_Theatre_School).[1]

## Career

In 2011, Deacon made her professional acting debut in a stage production of *Kin* at the Royal Court Theatre,[2] and later that year, she played the younger version of Electra in an adaptation of *[Electra](/source/Electra_(Sophocles_play))* at the [Gate Theatre](/source/Gate_Theatre_(London)).[3][4] Deacon made her television debut in "[Amy's Choice](/source/Amy's_Choice_(Doctor_Who))", an episode of the [BBC](/source/BBC_One) series *[Doctor Who](/source/Doctor_Who)*.[5] She then appeared in three episodes of the BBC supernatural drama *[The Secret of Crickley Hall](/source/The_Secret_of_Crickley_Hall_(TV_series))*.[6]

In May 2017, Deacon portrayed the role of Catherine Davis in the [Channel 4](/source/Channel_4) docudrama *[The Trial: A Murder in the Family](/source/The_Trial:_A_Murder_in_the_Family)*.[7] Later that year, she began portraying the role of [Chloe Voyle](/source/List_of_Ackley_Bridge_characters#Chloe_Voyle) in the Channel 4 school drama *[Ackley Bridge](/source/Ackley_Bridge)*.[8][9] In the same month, she began appearing in the [CBBC](/source/CBBC) series *[Hetty Feather](/source/Hetty_Feather_(TV_series))* as Agnes Duffett, a role she portrayed until 2020.[10] In 2018, she appeared in an episode of the BBC drama *[Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators](/source/Shakespeare_%26_Hathaway:_Private_Investigators)* as Lily Rattle.[11]
