# Felix Smith

**Felix Smith** (March 19, 1918 – October 3, 2018) was an American [aviator](/source/Aircraft_pilot).

## Life and career

Smith was born in [Fort Smith](/source/Fort_Smith,_Arkansas),[1][2] Arkansas.[3] He was a [CAT](/source/Civil_Air_Transport) pilot.[4][5][6]

Smith was director of operations for [South Pacific Island Airways](/source/South_Pacific_Island_Airways)[1] during the 1970s/1980s.

In 1993, Smith was awarded the [Distinguished Flying Cross](/source/Distinguished_Flying_Cross_(United_States)) and the [Air Medal](/source/Air_Medal).[1]

Smith died on October 3, 2018, at the age of 100.[1][7]
