Lake on Titan

Feia Lacus Cassini synthetic aperture radar image of Feia Lacus, a hydrocarbon lake on Titan with several large peninsulas. Feature type Lacus Coordinates 73°42′N 64°24′W / 73.7°N 64.4°W / 73.7; -64.4 Diameter 47 km[note 1] Eponym Lagoa Feia

**Feia Lacus** is one of a number of [hydrocarbon seas and lakes](/source/Lakes_of_Titan) found on Saturn's largest moon, [Titan](/source/Titan_(moon)).[1] It was named in 2007[2] on the basis of data taken by the space probe *[Cassini](/source/Cassini%E2%80%93Huygens)*.[3]

The lake is located at [latitude](/source/Latitude) 73.7°[N](/source/North) and [longitude](/source/Longitude) 64.41° [W](/source/West) on Titan's globe,[4] and is composed of liquid [methane](/source/Methane) and [ethane](/source/Ethane).[5] At 47 [km](/source/Kilometer) in length it is moderately sized.[4] It is named after [Lagoa Feia](/source/Formosa%2C_Goi%C3%A1s#Tourist_Site) in [Brazil](/source/Brazil).[6]

1. **[^](#cite_ref-qualifier_1-0)** The USGS web site gives the size as a "diameter", but it is actually the length in the longest dimension.
