**Federico Roman** (born 29 July 1952) is an Italian [equestrian](/source/Equestrianism) and Olympic champion.

## Biography

Federico Roman won an individual gold medal in [eventing](/source/Eventing) at the [1980 Summer Olympics](/source/1980_Summer_Olympics) in [Moscow](/source/Moscow).[1] He was also a member of the Italian team that received a silver medal in *team eventing* at the same Olympics. He participated also to [1976 Summer Olympics](/source/1976_Summer_Olympics) and [1992 Summer Olympics](/source/1992_Summer_Olympics). He is the brother of [Mauro Roman](/source/Mauro_Roman).[2]

His sons [Luca](/source/Luca_Roman) and [Pietro](/source/Pietro_Roman) competed together at the [2016 Summer Olympics](/source/2016_Summer_Olympics) in [Rio de Janeiro](/source/Rio_de_Janeiro), [Brazil](/source/Brazil).
