**Faridpur-2** is a constituency represented in the [Jatiya Sangsad](/source/Jatiya_Sangsad) (National Parliament) of [Bangladesh](/source/Bangladesh).

## Boundaries

The constituency encompasses [Nagarkanda](/source/Nagarkanda_Upazila) and [Saltha](/source/Saltha_Upazila) upazilas, and one [union parishad](/source/Union_parishad) of [Sadarpur Upazila](/source/Sadarpur_Upazila): Krishnapur.[2][3]

## History

The constituency was created for the first general elections in newly independent Bangladesh, held in 1973.

Ahead of the [2008 general election](/source/2008_Bangladeshi_general_election), the [Election Commission](/source/Bangladesh_Election_Commission) redrew constituency boundaries to reflect population changes revealed by the [2001 Bangladesh census](/source/2001_Bangladesh_census).[4] The 2008 redistricting altered the boundaries of the constituency.[5]
