'''Fananu''' is a [municipality](/source/Administrative_divisions_of_the_Federated_States_of_Micronesia) in the state of [Chuuk](/source/Chuuk_State), [Federated States of Micronesia](/source/Federated_States_of_Micronesia). Consisting of the easternmost islands of [Nomwin Atoll](/source/Nomwin) and the westernmost islands of [Murilo Atoll](/source/Murilo%2C_Federated_States_of_Micronesia), it, along with the municipalities of Nomwin, [Ruo](/source/Ruo%2C_Federated_States_of_Micronesia) and Murilo, is part of the [Hall Islands](/source/Hall_Islands). The Halls, along with [Namonuito Atoll](/source/Namonuito_Atoll) and [Pattiw (Western islands)](/source/Pattiw) are considered "Northwest Outer Islands" in Chuuk State.
