**Faisal Abdelhassan Antar** ([Arabic](/source/Arabic_language): فَيْصَل عَبْد الْحَسَن عَنْتَر; born 20 December 1978) is a [Lebanese](/source/Lebanon) former [footballer](/source/Association_football) who played as a [defender](/source/Defender_(association_football)). He played his entire career in the [Lebanese Premier League](/source/Lebanese_Premier_League), for [Tadamon Sour](/source/Tadamon_Sour_SC), [Olympic Beirut](/source/Olympic_Beirut), [Nejmeh](/source/Nejmeh_SC), and [Mabarra](/source/Al_Mabarra_Club).

Antar also represented the [Lebanese national team](/source/Lebanon_national_football_team) at the [2000 AFC Asian Cup](/source/2000_AFC_Asian_Cup), where he had been present for the national team from 1998 to 2007. Faisal is the brother of former footballer [Roda Antar](/source/Roda_Antar). In June 2010, Antar announced his retirement and became a Hall of Famer in the [Lebanese Football Association](/source/Lebanese_Football_Association).

## Club career

Antar started his senior career at [Lebanese Premier League](/source/Lebanese_Premier_League) side [Tadamon Sour](/source/Tadamon_Sour_SC) during the [1998–99 season](/source/1998%E2%80%9399_Lebanese_Premier_League).[2][3] Antar helped Tadamon win their first [Lebanese FA Cup](/source/Lebanese_FA_Cup), in 2000–01, after beating [Ansar](/source/Al_Ansar_FC) 2–1 in the final.[4] In 2002 Antar moved to [Olympic Beirut](/source/Olympic_Beirut),[3] winning the [domestic double](/source/Double_(association_football)) (league and cup) in his first season at the club ([2002–03](/source/2002%E2%80%9303_Lebanese_Premier_League)).[2][4]

After three seasons at Tadamon, Antar moved to [Nejmeh](/source/Nejmeh_SC) in summer of 2005,[2][3] following a week-long trial in January 2005 at Scottish club [Rangers](/source/Rangers_F.C.).[5][6] In his first season at Nejmeh, Antar won the 2005 [Lebanese Elite Cup](/source/Lebanese_Elite_Cup).[4]

In 2007, Antar moved to [Mabarra](/source/Al_Mabarra_Club),[3] with whom he won the club's first FA Cup title ([2007–08](/source/2007%E2%80%9308_Lebanese_FA_Cup)).[4] In 2009 Antar returned to Tadamon Sour, where he remained until 2010, after which he decided to retire from football.[3] In 2011 he withdrew his decision to retire, and played two games for Tadamon during the [2011–12 season](/source/2011%E2%80%9312_Lebanese_Premier_League).[3]

## International career

Antar featured for [Lebanon U21](/source/Lebanon_national_under-23_football_team) in 1999, in a fixture against the [Czech Republic](/source/Czech_Republic_national_under-21_football_team).[7] Antar made his senior international debut for [Lebanon](/source/Lebanon_national_football_team) on 27 September 1998,[3] at the [1998 Arab Nations Cup](/source/1998_Arab_Nations_Cup); Lebanon lost 4–1 to [Saudi Arabia](/source/Saudi_Arabia_national_football_team).[2] Antar's first international goal came on 25 April 2001, in a [friendly](/source/Exhibition_game) against the [Philippines](/source/Philippines_national_football_team); he helped Lebanon win 3–0.[2][8]
