'''Fabrizio Ferron''' (born 5 September 1965) is an Italian former [footballer](/source/association_football) who played as a [goalkeeper](/source/Goalkeeper_(association_football)). He played over 300 games in [Serie A](/source/Serie_A).

==Football career==
Ferron started his career with the [AC Milan](/source/AC_Milan) [youth team](/source/AC_Milan_Primavera). He then played for [Sambenedettese](/source/SS_Sambenedettese_Calcio), before spending 8 seasons at [Atalanta](/source/Atalanta_BC).

On 23 February 1992, Ferron suffered the infamy of conceding a late equaliser to [Michelangelo Rampulla](/source/Michelangelo_Rampulla), the opposing goalkeeper for [Cremonese](/source/US_Cremonese), who became the first goalkeeper to score from open play in [Serie A](/source/Serie_A) history.

In a 0–3 loss away to [Reggiana](/source/AC_Reggiana_1919) on 23 January 1994, Ferron's heart stopped beating for some 15 seconds after a collision with an opposing striker. Luckily, he was revived shortly afterwards.<ref>{{cite AV media| url-status = live| archive-url = https://ghostarchive.org/varchive/youtube/20211209/BU4s4WeLik4| archive-date = 2021-12-09| url = https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BU4s4WeLik4| title = 1993 94 20 Reggiana Atalanta 3 0 23 gen 1994 | website=[YouTube](/source/YouTube)}}{{cbignore}}</ref>

He then played for [Sampdoria](/source/UC_Sampdoria), and subsequently for [Internazionale](/source/FC_Internazionale_Milano), as a backup to [Angelo Peruzzi](/source/Angelo_Peruzzi).

He joined [Verona](/source/Hellas_Verona_FC) in summer 2000. In summer 2002, he joined Serie A newcomer [Como](/source/Calcio_Como), where he competed with [Alex Brunner](/source/Alex_Brunner) for a starting spot. He played his last Serie A match against [Modena FC](/source/Modena_FC) on 27 April 2003, at the age of {{age in years and days|1965|9|5|2003|4|27|df=yes}}. Due to Brunner's departure and the club's relegation, he became the regular starter for Como, ahead of [Stefano Layeni](/source/Stefano_Layeni). In the summer of 2004, he joined [Bologna](/source/Bologna_FC_1909) as a backup to [Gianluca Pagliuca](/source/Gianluca_Pagliuca), who was one year younger than Ferron.
