# Exuma Sound

**Exuma Sound** is a body of water in the [Bahama Islands](/source/Bahama_Islands).[1][2] It lies southeast of [New Providence Island](/source/New_Providence_Island) and [Eleuthera Island](/source/Eleuthera_Island) and west of [Cat Island](/source/Cat_Island_(Bahamas)).[2]

The first ever landing of a rocket in a different country than it was launched from occurred on February 18th, 2025, when a [SpaceX](/source/SpaceX) [Falcon 9](/source/Falcon_9) launched from [Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40)](/source/Cape_Canaveral_Space_Launch_Complex_40) at [Cape Canaveral Space Force Station](/source/Cape_Canaveral_Space_Force_Station) in Florida landed on a drone ship in Exuma Sound as a part of the [Starlink 10-12](/source/List_of_Falcon_9_and_Falcon_Heavy_launches) mission.[3][4]
