'''Express Werke AG''' was a company formed in 1884 in [Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz](/source/Neumarkt_in_der_Oberpfalz), Germany that manufactured [bicycles](/source/bicycles) and [motorcycles](/source/motorcycles). At the start of the company they produced 20 bikes with 16 employees in one year.<ref name="Chardonnet 1959 p. Colin | series=Cahiers de la Fondation nationale des sciences politiques | issue=v. 1 | year=1959 | url=https://books.google.com/books?id=RbkcAAAAIAAJ | language=fr | access-date=2024-02-16 | page=172}}</ref> In the 1930s Express built [mopeds](/source/mopeds) and lightweight motorcycles with 75cc and 98cc [Sachs](/source/ZF_Sachs_AG) [engines](/source/engines). From 1949 the company resumed production using Sachs and [ILO engine](/source/ILO_engine)s up to 248cc. In 1958 Express merged with [DKW](/source/DKW) and [Victoria](/source/Victoria_(motorcycle)) to form [Zweirad Union](/source/Zweirad_Union). Zweirad Union terminated Express production in 1959.
