'''Exclusive Records''' was a record label established by [Leon René](/source/Leon_Ren%C3%A9), which existed from 1944 to 1950.

==History==
Exclusive Records was established by Leon René in Los Angeles<ref name="New Grove">{{cite book| last1=Rye|first1=Howard| editor1-last=Kernfeld|editor1-first=Barry|title=The New Grove Dictionary of Jazz|date=2002|publisher=Grove's Dictionaries Inc. |location=New York|isbn=1-56159-284-6|page=732|volume=1|edition=2nd}}</ref> in 1944 and ceased operations in January 1950.<ref>The Vocal Group Harmony Website,[http://www.vocalgroupharmony.com/At_Least.htm Herb Jeffries and Three Shades of Rhythm]. The label's roster included music by [Lucky Thompson](/source/Lucky_Thompson),<ref name="New Grove" /> the Basin Street Boys, the Ceele Burke Orchestra, Edgar Hayes & His Stardusters, [Herb Jeffries](/source/Herb_Jeffries), Rickey Jordan, [Jack McVea](/source/Jack_McVea) & His Orchestra, [Mabel Scott](/source/Mabel_Scott), Frantic Fay Thomas,<ref>The Vocal Group Harmony Website, [http://www.vocalgroupharmony.com/ImInTown.htm Previous single artist record of the week--from the collection of Paul Ressler]. Leon René and his brother [Otis René](/source/Otis_Ren%C3%A9), who owned [Excelsior Records](/source/Excelsior_Records),<ref name="New Grove" /> purchased a shellac record pressing plant, but when the format changed from [78 rpm to 45 rpm](/source/Gramophone_record), their old equipment could not press the new smaller vinyl discs, and both labels went out of business.{{citation needed|date=August 2012}}

In 1951, Leon René started up [Class Records](/source/Class_Records) with his son, musician [Googie René](/source/Googie_Rene). They formed [Rendezvous Records](/source/Rendezvous_Records) with new partners in 1958.
