**"Every Heartbeat"** is a song by American Christian singer [Amy Grant](/source/Amy_Grant). It was released in June 1991 by [A&M Records](/source/A%26M_Records) (in remixed and re-produced form) as the third single from her ninth studio album, *[Heart in Motion](/source/Heart_in_Motion)* (1991), though it was the second from the album to be released to mainstream [pop](/source/Pop_music) radio. It reached No. 2 on the US [*Billboard* Hot 100](/source/Billboard_Hot_100) and on the [Adult Contemporary](/source/Adult_Contemporary_(chart)) chart for one and six weeks, respectively. [Charlie Peacock](/source/Charlie_Peacock) wrote the song's music and chorus lyrics, with Grant and [Wayne Kirkpatrick](/source/Wayne_Kirkpatrick) composing the remaining lyrics.[2]

In 2004, [Sixpence None the Richer](/source/Sixpence_None_the_Richer) covered "Every Heartbeat" on the album *Full Circle: A Celebration of Songs and Friends*, which commemorated Charlie Peacock's 20-year anniversary as a solo recording artist. [Mark Lowry](/source/Mark_Lowry) parodied the song with the title "Every Teacher". In 2014, the song was included on Grant's remix compilation album, *[In Motion: The Remixes](/source/In_Motion:_The_Remixes)*. A digital remix EP was released on [iTunes](/source/ITunes_Store) in support of the album which charted at No. 13 on the *[Billboard](/source/Billboard_Magazine)* [Hot Dance Club Songs](/source/Hot_Dance_Club_Songs) chart.
