**Eva Zeikfalvy** (born 18 April 1967) is a Swedish former [association football](/source/Association_football) [defender](/source/Defender_(association_football)) who won 69 [caps](/source/Cap_(sports)) for the [Sweden women's national football team](/source/Sweden_women's_national_football_team), scoring two goals. She represented Sweden at the [FIFA Women's World Cup](/source/FIFA_Women's_World_Cup) in [1991](/source/1991_FIFA_Women's_World_Cup) and [1995](/source/1995_FIFA_Women's_World_Cup). She is nicknamed **Zäta**.

## Club career

Growing up in [Veberöd](/source/Veber%C3%B6d), Zeikfalvy played football with the local [Veberöds AIF](/source/Veber%C3%B6ds_AIF) girls' team until her family moved to [Malmö](/source/Malm%C3%B6) in 1977.[2]

Zeikfalvy left Malmö and stopped playing after the 2000 Damallsvenskan season.[3]

## International career

Zeikfalvy made her senior [Sweden](/source/Sweden_women's_national_football_team) debut in 1988.[4] At the [1988 FIFA Women's Invitation Tournament](/source/1988_FIFA_Women's_Invitation_Tournament) in [Guangdong](/source/Guangdong) she was part of the Swedish team who finished runners-up to [Norway](/source/Norway_women's_national_football_team). The Chinese press voted her into the tournament's official all-star team.[5]

In 1991 Zeikfalvy helped Sweden to a third-place finish at the inaugural [FIFA Women's World Cup](/source/FIFA_Women's_World_Cup). The previous year she had collected the [Diamantbollen](/source/Diamantbollen) award for the best female footballer in the country.

Continued good form at club level meant Zeikfalvy was linked with a call-up to Sweden's [2000 Sydney Olympics](/source/Football_at_the_2000_Summer_Olympics#Women) squad. She was unable to attend due to her studies.[6]

## Personal life

Zeikfalvy is an [orthopedic technician](/source/Orthopedic_surgery). She is of [Hungarian](/source/Hungarian_people) parentage.[7]

Since her retirement from playing, Zeikfalvy has also worked as a [coach](/source/Coach_(sports)). She rejoined [Malmö FF Dam](/source/FC_Roseng%C3%A5rd) as a youth team coach in December 2002.[8] For the 2004 season she moved to [Husie IF](/source/Husie_IF) to work as an assistant to former club and Sweden team-mate [Lena Videkull](/source/Lena_Videkull).[9]

In September 2012 Zeikfalvy joined Danish [Elitedivisionen](/source/Elitedivisionen) club B.93/HIK/Skjold as an assistant to former Malmö team-mate [Denise Reddy](/source/Denise_Reddy).[10]
