Ewing had his best WSL performance in 2023, when he finished 3rd on the CT after the regular season. In the Rip Curl WSL finals, Ewing defeated Griffin Colapinto before falling to champion Filipe Toledo to finish 2nd in the world. He [qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games](/source/Surfing_at_the_2024_Summer_Olympics_%E2%80%93_Qualification).

==Surfing characteristics==
Ethan Ewing is known for his impeccable rail surfing, the Australian is often compared to [Mick Fanning](/source/Mick_Fanning) and [Andy Irons](/source/Andy_Irons), mainly for the way he attacks the waves, mainly by the use of speed, power and flow. Ewing surfs regular and tends to prioritize the more traditional Aussie lineup with a power surf. ==Surfing career==
Ethan started in the WSL in 2012 at the Junior World Championships and made his debut in the [Men's Qualifying Series in 2015](/source/%3Apt%3AWorld_Men's_Qualifying_Series_de_2029).
