# Erwin Keller

**Erwin Keller** (8 April 1905 in [Concepción](/source/Concepci%C3%B3n,_Chile) - 31 July 1971 in [West Berlin](/source/West_Berlin)) was a [field hockey](/source/Field_hockey) player from [Germany](/source/Germany), who won the silver medal for his country at the [1936 Summer Olympics](/source/1936_Summer_Olympics) in [Berlin](/source/Berlin).

Four members of his family have won field hockey gold for Germany. His son [Carsten Keller](/source/Carsten_Keller) captured the gold medal at the [1972 Summer Olympics](/source/1972_Summer_Olympics) as did three of his grandchildren, all as strikers. [Andreas](/source/Andreas_Keller) became Olympic champion in [1992](/source/1992_Summer_Olympics) ([Barcelona](/source/Barcelona)), after winning silver at the two previous Olympics in [Los Angeles](/source/Los_Angeles) ([1984](/source/1984_Summer_Olympics)) and [Seoul](/source/Seoul) ([1988](/source/1988_Summer_Olympics)). [Natascha](/source/Natascha_Keller) competed in three Olympics, winning gold at the [2004 Summer Olympics](/source/2004_Summer_Olympics) in [Athens](/source/Athens). At the [2008 Summer Olympics](/source/2008_Summer_Olympics) [Florian](/source/Florian_Keller) also won the gold medal for Germany.
