At the [1895 general election](/source/1895_United_Kingdom_general_election) Flower was elected as the [Member of Parliament](/source/Member_of_Parliament_(United_Kingdom)) (MP) for [Bradford West](/source/Bradford_West_(UK_Parliament_constituency)),<ref name="craig1885-1918">{{cite book
