A founding member of [the Delgados](/source/the_Delgados), Pollock signed a solo [recording contract](/source/recording_contract) with British independent record label [4AD](/source/4AD) in 2005 after the break-up of the band. Her debut solo studio album, ''[Watch the Fireworks](/source/Watch_the_Fireworks)'', was released on 17 September 2007.<ref>{{cite web|first=Gemma|last=Padley|title=Watch The Fireworks could finally give The Delgados' lady the international acclaim...|url=https://www.bbc.co.uk/music/reviews/5nw6/|publisher=[BBC](/source/BBC)|date=2007-09-14}}</ref> Pollock has most recently been recording with Scottish-Canadian band [The Burns Unit](/source/The_Burns_Unit), along with Indo-Caledonian pop artist [Future Pilot A.K.A.](/source/Future_Pilot_A.K.A.), [Karine Polwart](/source/Karine_Polwart), [King Creosote](/source/King_Creosote), multi-instrumentalist Kim Edgar, drummer and producer Mattie Foulds, pianist Michael Johnston; and rapper MC Soom T. Pollock has also worked with [David Gedge](/source/David_Gedge) both in the studio and live as part of his Cinerama project.

On 3 August 2010, the Burns Unit released their debut studio album, ''Side Show'', through Proper Distribution in the UK.
