A graduate of the [Brussels Conservatory](/source/Brussels_Conservatory), she made her official stage début at [The Hague](/source/The_Hague) in 1914. She was contracted to [La Monnaie](/source/La_Monnaie) in Brussels from 1918–1922 where she excelled in [lyric soprano](/source/lyric_soprano) roles like [Louise](/source/Louise_(opera)), [Mélisande](/source/Pell%C3%A9as_et_M%C3%A9lisande_(opera)), and [Manon](/source/Manon). She spent the remainder of her career as a member of the [Opéra-Comique](/source/Op%C3%A9ra-Comique) in Paris. Her career was disrupted by the outbreak of [World War II](/source/World_War_II), and she was not heard on the stage again after this point.
