**Elterlein** (German pronunciation: [\[ˈɛltɐlaɪ̯n\]](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:IPA/Standard_German) [ⓘ](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:De-Elterlein.ogg)) is a town in the district of [Erzgebirgskreis](/source/Erzgebirgskreis), in [Saxony](/source/Saxony), [Germany](/source/Germany). It is situated in the [Ore Mountains](/source/Ore_Mountains), 10 km west of [Annaberg-Buchholz](/source/Annaberg-Buchholz). It consists of the divisions Elterlein, Hermannsdorf and [Schwarzbach](/source/Schwarzbach_(Elterlein)).

## History

From 1952 to 1990, Elterlein was part of the [Bezirk Karl-Marx-Stadt](/source/Bezirk_Karl-Marx-Stadt) of [East Germany](/source/East_Germany).
