**Ellis Darren Chapman** (born 8 January 2001) is an English professional [footballer](/source/Association_football) who plays as a [midfielder](/source/Midfielder) for [League of Ireland Premier Division](/source/League_of_Ireland_Premier_Division) club [Shelbourne](/source/Shelbourne_F.C.).

## Career

### Lincoln City

Chapman came through the [Lincoln City](/source/Lincoln_City_F.C.) youth-team, before being purchased by [Leicester City](/source/Leicester_City_F.C.)'s [Academy](/source/Leicester_City_F.C.) for an undisclosed fee in 2016.[3] He returned to Lincoln City the following year and made the first-team bench in September 2017, at the age of 16, after impressing "Imps" manager [Danny Cowley](/source/Danny_Cowley).[4] He made his senior debut on 24 October, coming on as a 70th-minute substitute for [Michael Bostwick](/source/Michael_Bostwick) in a 2–1 victory over [Everton U23](/source/Everton_F.C._Reserves_and_Academy) in an [EFL Trophy](/source/EFL_Trophy) group stage match at [Sincil Bank](/source/Sincil_Bank).[5]

### Cheltenham Town

On 15 October 2020, it was announced that Chapman had joined [Cheltenham Town](/source/Cheltenham_Town_F.C.),[6] with Lincoln City retaining a future financial interest in the player.[7]

On 17 November 2022, Chapman signed for National League club [Oldham Athletic](/source/Oldham_Athletic_A.F.C.) on a one-month loan deal.[8]

### Sligo Rovers

On 22 December 2023, it was announced that upon the opening of the transfer window, Chapman would be loaned to [League of Ireland Premier Division](/source/League_of_Ireland_Premier_Division) side [Sligo Rovers](/source/Sligo_Rovers_F.C.) until June.[9] On 15 February 2024, he made the move permanent before he had made his competitive debut for the club.[10]

### Shelbourne

On 19 December 2024, Chapman signed for [Shelbourne](/source/Shelbourne_F.C.) ahead of their [2025 season](/source/2025_Shelbourne_F.C._season).[11] The midfielder scored his first goal for the Dublin club against Galway United on 21 April 2025.
