**Elle Kennedy** is a Canadian author of [contemporary romance](/source/Contemporary_romance) and [romantic suspense](/source/Romantic_suspense). She is a [Romance Writers of America](/source/Romance_Writers_of_America) [RITA Award](/source/RITA_Award) winner.

## Early life

From a young age, Kennedy knew she wanted to be a writer and began actively pursuing her passion in her teenage years.[1] She received her B.A. in English from [York University](/source/York_University) in 2005.[2]

## Career

Kennedy has published books with [Harlequin Enterprises](/source/Harlequin_Enterprises), [New American Library](/source/New_American_Library), [Berkley](/source/Berkley_Books), and [Entangled Publishing](/source/Entangled_Publishing). ## Adaptations

Kennedy's standalone romance book, *Girl Abroad*, was announced to be in the works in May 2024 with [Chris Van Dusen](/source/Chris_Van_Dusen) adapting it.[6] Her *Off Campus* series was adapted by [Amazon MGM Studios](/source/Amazon_MGM_Studios) titled [under the same name](/source/Off_Campus).*[7]* The first season debuted on May 13, 2026.
