# Eli Waste

**Eli Waste** (July 27, 1827 – August 14, 1894) was an American farmer and politician.

Born in the town of [Salem](/source/Salem,_New_York), [Washington County, New York](/source/Washington_County,_New_York), Waste moved to the town of [Lyndon](/source/Lyndon,_Sheboygan_County,_Wisconsin), [Sheboygan County](/source/Sheboygan_County,_Wisconsin), [Wisconsin Territory](/source/Wisconsin_Territory) in 1847 and then to the town of [Sparta](/source/Sparta_(town),_Wisconsin), [Monroe County, Wisconsin](/source/Monroe_County,_Wisconsin) in 1850. Waste was a farmer. He served as Monroe County treasurer and as county judge. In 1874, 1875, and 1880, Waste served in the [Wisconsin State Assembly](/source/Wisconsin_State_Assembly) as a [Republican](/source/Republican_Party_(United_States)). In 1880, Waste moved to [Antigo, Wisconsin](/source/Antigo,_Wisconsin) and he died there in 1894.[1][2]
