Canonical URL: https://mediated.wiki/source/Eli_Arenson > Markdown URL: https://mediated.wiki/source/Eli_Arenson.md > Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eli_Arenson > Source revision: 1342925014 > License: Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/) **Eli Arenson** (born 14 February 1988) is an [Iceland](/source/Iceland) based [cinematographer](/source/Cinematographer).[1] He is known for his work on [*Lamb*](/source/Lamb_(2021_film)) (2021), [*The Deliverance*](/source/The_Deliverance_(film)) (2024) and [*The Watchers*](/source/The_Watchers_(film)) (2024).[2][3] Arenson received the [Edda Awards](/source/Edda_Awards) for *Best Cinematographer* in 2022 for his work on the film *Lamb*.[4] ## Career Arenson began his career as a war photographer in 2006 before shifting into commercial and narrative films.[5] He moved to Los Angeles in 2013 and graduated from the [AFI Conservatory](/source/AFI_Conservatory)'s [MFA](/source/Master_of_Fine_Arts) program in Cinematography in 2015, his thesis film *All These Voices* winning the [student Academy Award](/source/Student_Academy_Awards) in 2016.[6][7] In 2019, he filmed the [A24](/source/A24) film *[Lamb](/source/Lamb_(2021_film))* which won the [Cannes](/source/Cannes_Film_Festival) [Un Certain Regard](/source/Un_Certain_Regard) Prize of Originality (2021) and was shortlisted for the [Academy Award for Best International Feature Film](/source/Academy_Award_for_Best_International_Feature_Film) (2022).[8] In 2022, Arenson teamed up with director [Lee Daniels](/source/Lee_Daniels) to shoot his [Netflix](/source/Netflix) film [*The Deliverance*](/source/The_Deliverance_(film)) (2024), which topped the global streaming charts upon release.[9] In 2023, producer [M. Night Shyamalan](/source/M._Night_Shyamalan) hired Arenson to film *[The Watchers](/source/The_Watchers_(film))* (2024), the directorial debut of [Ishana Night Shyamalan](/source/Ishana_Night_Shyamalan) distributed by [Warner Bros. Pictures](/source/Warner_Bros._Pictures).[10] In addition, he filmed the [Cannes Film Festival](/source/Cannes_Film_Festival) Special Mention winning short film *Fár* (2023).[11] Arenson's work is characterized by its evocative and visually arresting qualities.
