**Ele Keats** is an American television, film and stage actress, model, and jewelry designer. Keats's most notable roles were in the [Disney](/source/Disney) [musical](/source/Musical_film) [drama film](/source/Drama_film) *[Newsies](/source/Newsies)*, [Garry Marshall](/source/Garry_Marshall)'s *[Frankie and Johnny](/source/Frankie_and_Johnny_(1991_film))*, the biographical survival drama *[Alive](/source/Alive_(1993_film))*, [Steven Soderbergh](/source/Steven_Soderbergh)'s *[Eros](/source/Eros_(film))* and the [horror film](/source/Horror_film) *[Insidious: Chapter 3](/source/Insidious:_Chapter_3)*. She has also appeared in more than one hundred national TV commercials.

## Acting career

Keats began her professional career as a young model, being featured in publications such as *American Baby*, *[Ladies' Home Journal](/source/Ladies'_Home_Journal)* & *[Teen Magazine](/source/Teen_(magazine))*.[citation needed]

After moving to [Los Angeles](/source/Los_Angeles) she launched her acting career at fifteen, being featured in a [Michael Jackson](/source/Michael_Jackson) [Pepsi](/source/Pepsi) commercial and in 1988 she appeared in [LL Cool J](/source/LL_Cool_J)'s *[Going Back to Cali](/source/Going_Back_to_Cali_(LL_Cool_J_song))* music video, directed by [Ric Menello](/source/Ric_Menello).[citation needed]

Keats has appeared in more than one hundred [TV commercials](/source/TV_commercials), including the 1990 [Levi's jeans](/source/Levi_Strauss_%26_Co.) beach ad.[1]

She trained theatrically in New York and in Los Angeles under Gene Bua and Fran Rosen, among others, and starred in plays such as *Seven Sided Circle*, at the Gene Bua Theatre and *Music, America*.[citation needed] Small television roles quickly followed, including the pilot for *[The Outsiders](/source/The_Outsiders_(U.S._TV_series))*, produced by [Francis Ford Coppola](/source/Francis_Ford_Coppola) and a recurring part in the [CBS](/source/CBS_Television_Distribution) sitcom *[Dear John](/source/Dear_John_(U.S._TV_series))* starring [Judd Hirsch](/source/Judd_Hirsch).

When she was still in her teens, Keats landed a regular role in [Fox](/source/Fox_Broadcasting_Company)'s daily soap opera *[Tribes](/source/Tribes_(TV_series))* as Anny, a pregnant teen girl. During the 1990s, Keats landed leading and supporting roles in television and independent projects such as *Lipstick Camera*, the thriller-drama *[I Shot a Man in Vegas](/source/I_Shot_a_Man_in_Vegas)*, [Disney Channel](/source/Disney_Channel)'s *[White Wolves II: Legend of the Wild](/source/White_Wolves_II:_Legend_of_the_Wild)*, Frank LaLoggia's thriller *The Haunted Heart* (later re-named *Mother*, starring [Diane Ladd](/source/Diane_Ladd) and [Olympia Dukakis](/source/Olympia_Dukakis)) and the [CBS](/source/CBS) prime-time drama *Race Against Time: the Search of Sarah* (in the title role). ## Jewelry design career

Apart from her job as an actress, Keats has launched her own [jewelry](/source/Jewelry) line in 2005, Ele Keats Jewelry.[4] As a [jewelry designer](/source/Jewelry_designer), Keats specializes in inspirational and [birthstone](/source/Birthstones) designs and works only with ethical stones.[5] Her creations have been featured in several magazines, worn in many movies and TV shows and received an overwhelming response from celebrity clientele, who praise her inspirational designs as “simply stunning.” [6]

## Personal life
