# El Toqui mine

**El Toqui mine** is a [polymetallic](/source/Polymetallic_ore) [zinc](/source/Zinc)-[gold](/source/Gold) [mine](/source/Mining) in [Chile](/source/Chile). Besides [silver](/source/Silver) and [lead](/source/Lead) are also mined in El Toqui.[1] The mine is owned by [Laguna Gold](/source/Laguna_Gold) through its [wholly owned subsidiary](/source/Subsidiary) company Sociedad Contractual Minera el Toqui.[2] Laguna Gold purchased the mine from [Nyrstar](/source/Nyrstar) in 2016.[3] Nyrstar had owned the mine since its 2011 purchase of [Breakwater Resources](/source/Breakwater_Resources) which had in turn purchased it from [Barrick Gold Corporation](/source/Barrick_Gold) in 1997.[4]

The mine is powered by a 4 Mw diesel power plant and a 2 Mw hydroelectric power plant.[1]

As of 2025 the mine was exporting zinc [concentrate](/source/Ore_concentrate) to [Lianyungang](/source/Lianyungang) in China through the port of [Chacabuco](/source/Puerto_Chacabuco) in [Aysén Fjord](/source/Ays%C3%A9n_Fjord).[5]
