**Edwin Freeman** (5 June 1886 – 1945) was an English [cricketer](/source/Cricket) and [footballer](/source/Association_football) active from 1908 to 1920 who played for [Northamptonshire](/source/Northamptonshire_County_Cricket_Club) and [Northampton Town](/source/Northampton_Town_F.C.).

## Career

Freeman began his football career as an amateur with [Stoke](/source/Stoke_City_F.C.) in the [1904–05 season](/source/1904%E2%80%9305_Stoke_F.C._season). He spent the campaign with the [reserve side](/source/Stoke_City_F.C._Under-23s_and_Academy) playing in the [Birmingham & District League](/source/West_Midlands_(Regional)_League).[1] After a period with non-league side Regent Templars, he played 28 times for his home-town club [Northampton Town](/source/Northampton_Town_F.C.) in the [1920–21](/source/1920%E2%80%9321_in_English_football) season.[1]

Freeman appeared in sixteen first-class matches as a righthanded [batsman](/source/Batting_(cricket)) who [bowled](/source/Bowling_(cricket)) [right arm medium pace](/source/Seam_bowling). He scored 133 [runs](/source/Run_(cricket)) with a highest score of 30 and took six [wickets](/source/Wicket) with a best performance of three for 62.[2]
