# Edward Holmes Baldock

**Edward Holmes Baldock** (1812 – 15 August 1875)[1] was a British [Conservative Party](/source/Conservative_Party_(UK)) politician. He was the son of [Edward Holmes Baldock (dealer)](/source/Edward_Holmes_Baldock_(dealer)) (1777–1845), the prominent London dealer in French 18th-century furniture and reproductions.[2]

He was elected at the [1847 general election](/source/1847_United_Kingdom_general_election) as a [member of parliament](/source/Member_of_Parliament_(United_Kingdom)) (MP) for the [borough of Shrewsbury](/source/Shrewsbury_(UK_Parliament_constituency)),[3][4] and was re-elected in [1852](/source/1852_United_Kingdom_general_election).[5] He did not contest the [1857 general election](/source/1857_United_Kingdom_general_election).[3]

His daughter Eillen Costance married [Francis Needham, 3rd Earl of Kilmorey](/source/Francis_Needham%2C_3rd_Earl_of_Kilmorey), parents of the [4th Earl of Kilmorey](/source/Francis_Needham%2C_4th_Earl_of_Kilmorey).
