== Early life ==
Barbash was born in [West Islip](/source/West_Islip), [New York](/source/New_York_(state)), but spent his first years living in [Oaxaca](/source/Oaxaca), [Mexico](/source/Mexico). His family moved to [Atlanta, Georgia](/source/Atlanta%2C_Georgia) when he was two years old. At eight years old he began playing saxophone in his elementary school band. Barbash studied at the [University of North Carolina School of the Arts](/source/University_of_North_Carolina_School_of_the_Arts) in high school. In 2009, he formed The Amigos, an Americana band based in [New York City](/source/New_York_City).
