# Ed Henke

**Edgar Edwin Henke** (December 13, 1927 – June 28, 2015) was an American professional [football](/source/American_football) player who was an [offensive](/source/Offensive_lineman) and [defensive lineman](/source/Defensive_lineman) in the [National Football League](/source/National_Football_League) (NFL) for the [San Francisco 49ers](/source/San_Francisco_49ers) and [St. Louis Cardinals](/source/St._Louis_Cardinals_(NFL)). He also played in the [All-America Football Conference](/source/All-America_Football_Conference) (AAFC) for the [Los Angeles Dons](/source/Los_Angeles_Dons). Henke played [college football](/source/College_football) for the [USC Trojans](/source/USC_Trojans_football) and was selected in the 13th round of the [1949 NFL draft](/source/1949_NFL_draft) by the [Washington Redskins](/source/Washington_Redskins). Henke also played three season in the [Western Interprovincial Football Union](/source/Western_Interprovincial_Football_Union) with the [Calgary Stampeders](/source/Calgary_Stampeders) and the [Winnipeg Blue Bombers](/source/Winnipeg_Blue_Bombers), being named an All Star in 1950 and 1954.
