**Ecstatic Peace!** is a [record label](/source/Record_label) based in [Easthampton](/source/Easthampton%2C_Massachusetts), [Massachusetts](/source/Massachusetts), founded in 1981 by American musician [Thurston Moore](/source/Thurston_Moore) of [Sonic Youth](/source/Sonic_Youth). The label name is borrowed from a line in [Tom Wolfe](/source/Tom_Wolfe)'s 1968 nonfiction novel *[The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test](/source/The_Electric_Kool-Aid_Acid_Test)*.

The label's releases are eclectic and often experimental or avant-garde. The premiere release was a split cassette featuring spoken word performances from [Michael Gira](/source/Michael_Gira) of [Swans](/source/Swans_(band)) and [Lydia Lunch](/source/Lydia_Lunch) titled "Hard Rock" in 1984.

Ecstatic Peace! has released more than 200 LPs, cassettes, 7"s, and CDs, of both highly established and fledgling artists, including [Hush Arbors](/source/Hush_Arbors), [be your own PET](/source/Be_your_own_PET), [Awesome Color](/source/Awesome_Color), [Black Helicopter](/source/Black_Helicopter_(band)), [Free Kitten](/source/Free_Kitten), [Arthur Doyle](/source/Arthur_Doyle), [Dredd Foole](/source/Dredd_Foole), [No-Neck Blues Band](/source/No-Neck_Blues_Band), [Nels Cline](/source/Nels_Cline), [Notekillers](/source/Notekillers), [Magik Markers](/source/Magik_Markers), [Tall Firs](/source/Tall_Firs), [Pagoda](/source/Pagoda_(band)), [My Cat Is An Alien](/source/My_Cat_Is_an_Alien), Monotract, [Sunburned Hand of the Man](/source/Sunburned_Hand_of_the_Man), [Violent Soho](/source/Violent_Soho), and many more.[1]

In February 2006, Moore signed a deal with [Universal](/source/Universal_Music_Group) to distribute the label's albums.[2]

The label's website was hacked at some point during the latter half of 2012.[3] Since 2015, the site's lone page says "Thanks for checking in. Have a good day."[4] As of 2022, this was its last update.

Ecstatic Peace! has released three records since 2014, all of which are Thurston Moore recordings.[5]
