'''East Lutton''' is a hamlet in [North Yorkshire](/source/North_Yorkshire), England. It is situated approximately {{convert|9|mi|km|0}} east from [Malton](/source/Malton%2C_North_Yorkshire), and within the [Yorkshire Wolds](/source/Yorkshire_Wolds).

The village of [West Lutton](/source/West_Lutton) is {{convert|0.5|mi|km|1}} to the west. The village lies in the [Great Wold Valley](/source/Great_Wold_Valley) and the course of the [winterbourne stream](/source/Winterbourne_(stream)) the [Gypsey Race](/source/Gypsey_Race) passes through it.

East Lutton forms part of the [civil parish](/source/civil_parish) of Luttons.

In 1823 East Lutton was in the parish of [Weaverthorpe](/source/Weaverthorpe), the [Wapentake](/source/Hundred_(county_subdivision)) of [Buckrose](/source/Buckrose), and the [Liberty](/source/Liberty_(division)) of [St Peter's](/source/York_Minster) in the [East Riding of Yorkshire](/source/East_Riding_of_Yorkshire). Population, including West Lutton was 311. East Lutton occupations included four farmers, a grocer & [draper](/source/draper), a tailor, a shoemaker, and a corn miller.<ref name=Baines>{{cite book|authorlink=Edward Baines (1774–1848)|last=Baines|first= Edward|year= 1823|title=History, Directory and Gazetteer of the County of York|pages=364, 365}}</ref>

It was part of the East Riding of Yorkshire until 1974. From 1974 to 2023 it was part of the district of [Ryedale](/source/Ryedale), it is now administered by the unitary [North Yorkshire Council](/source/North_Yorkshire_Council).
