Everett began his acting career with a recurring role as Streeter in two episodes of the Canadian children's series ''[The Doodlebops](/source/The_Doodlebops)''. He appeared in the films ''The Devil's Mercy'', ''[Booky and the Secret Santa](/source/Booky_and_the_Secret_Santa)'', ''Everything Is Connected'', ''[Breakfast with Scot](/source/Breakfast_with_Scot)'', and ''For All the Marbles''. He also made a guest appearance in ''[The Dresden Files](/source/The_Dresden_Files_(TV_series))'' as Scott Sharpe.
In 2009, he was cast as Marlon Parks in [YTV](/source/YTV_(Canadian_TV_channel))'s ''[How to Be Indie](/source/How_to_Be_Indie)'', and in 2010, he played the lead role in the [Family Channel](/source/Family_Channel_(Canada)) series ''[Wingin' It](/source/Wingin'_It)''.{{Citation needed|date=December 2025}} He reprised his role as Marlon Parks for a second season of ''How to Be Indie'', which premiered in fall 2010, and also appeared in the second and third seasons of ''Wingin' It''.
