The '''Dutch Quarter''' ({{langx|de|Holländisches Viertel}}) is a neighborhood in [Potsdam](/source/Potsdam), Germany, consisting of 134 red [Dutch brick](/source/Dutch_brick) buildings, almost all of which have been renovated.

It was built from 1733 to 1740 and designed by [Jan Bouman](/source/Jan_Bouman) following the order of [Frederick William I of Prussia](/source/Frederick_William_I_of_Prussia), who invited talented Dutch craftsmen to settle there.<ref>{{Cite book |last=Kaufmann |first=Thomas DaCosta |url=https://books.google.com/books?id=6ETFnJ_8_XEC |title=Court, Cloister, and City: The Art and Culture of Central Europe, 1450-1800 |date=1995 |publisher=University of Chicago Press |isbn=978-0-226-42729-4 |pages=401 |language=en}}</ref><ref>{{Cite journal |last=Wojnarowska |first=Anna |date=2011 |title=Revitalisation of Potsdams's Central Area: Regaining the Identity of the City |url=https://www.ceeol.com/search/article-detail?id=231325 |journal=European Spatial Research and Policy |language=English |volume=18 |issue=1 |pages=89–100 |doi=10.2478/v10105-011-0006-z |issn=1896-1525|hdl=11089/10872 |hdl-access=free }}</ref> Under him, known as the "soldier king", the district was planned and the two western squares were built. After his death in 1740, his son and successor [Frederick the Great](/source/Frederick_the_Great) had the quarter with the two eastern squares completed largely according to his father's plans.
