[Roman legion](/source/Roman_legion)s marched from [Raedykes](/source/Raedykes) to [Normandykes](/source/Normandykes) [Roman Camp](/source/Roman_Camp) through the Durris Forest as they sought higher ground evading the [bog](/source/bog)s of [Red Moss](/source/Red_Moss%2C_Aberdeenshire) and other low-lying mosses associated with the [Burn of Muchalls](/source/Burn_of_Muchalls).
