**Juan Rafael Cortés Santiago**, known as **Duquende** (born 1965 in [Sabadell](/source/Sabadell), Spain[1]), is a Spanish [Romani](/source/Romani_people) [flamenco](/source/Flamenco) singer (cantaor). He is considered one of the successors to influential Flamenco singer [Camarón de la Isla](/source/Camar%C3%B3n_de_la_Isla).[1] Since 1997, Duquende has been a member of the [Paco de Lucía Sextet](/source/Paco_de_Luc%C3%ADa_Sextet) in addition to working as a solo artist.[1]

In 1995, Duquende was the first cantaor to be invited to perform at the [Champs Elysées](/source/Champs_Elys%C3%A9es) theatre in [Paris](/source/Paris).[1]

In 2000, he performed with the Naumburg Orchestral Concerts, in the Naumburg Bandshell, Central Park, in the summer series.[2]
